| Ex-pat meeting Hello all, We are visiting Uruguay and will be in town gor the April 3rd meeting. Do we need to RSVP? And is this the correct location, also is this a restaurant or meeting hall? Can someone give us the exact address? April 03, 2011 Sunday Parrillada Trouville Montevideo |
| "Sunday Expat Meetings"
There is no RSVP necessary. The meetings take place every Sunday at noon, currently at Parrillada Trouville. The original plan for the meetings was "same time, same place everyweek". We've been able to stick to that plan pretty good, but have changed restaurants a couple of times in 5-1/2 years. So it is a good idea to check the "meetings" page here for any updates. There are usually 30 or so people that attend. Sometimes a small cozy group of 10 or so and other times closer to 50. The exact address is Chuccaro 1031. You can see a google map with a pointer in the CORRECT PLACE on the meetings page here (click on the link at the top of the page). It is 1/2 a block from the BROU bank on the corner of Av Brasil and Chuccaro. Parrillada Trouville is a restaurant, though there is also a Club Trouville at the same address which is a basketball club/court. Ordering is from the menu and everyone gets a separate check. It is a traditional Uruguayan "Parrilla" (ie: meat grilled over a wood fire). They also offer pasta, and a good selection of salads (for non-meat eaters). There are other businesses that also have "Trouville" in their name, there are two different restaurants named Pizza Trouville, a hotel, pharmacy and probably others.
