Buddy Bears in Plaza Independencia!

Thank author of this post/commentThe Buddy Bears are a collection of 140 painted bear statues representing different countries from all over the world and they're currently on show in downtown Montevideo on Plaza Independencia and they will be there until June 17th 2009.

This project by UNICEF has been on show throughout the world since 2002 and has hit other such metropolises as Berlin, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, Seoul, Vienna, Cairo, Jerusalem, Warsaw, Buenos Aires and now our very own Montevideo.

Don't miss it, its well worth a look. Unfortunately the Uruguay bear is terribly done, and Ireland and the US are totally unoriginal...and for me Estonia really won for worst bear, but the candidates for best bear are many, so check it out!
