I am a water activity enthusiast and since Montevideo is our next stop (I am with my family), we are thinking about the most popular diving spot in Montevideo. I would love to go scuba diving, it is my favorite water activity of them all. Hope that anyone here can post some of the best diving spots in Montevideo. Hi Maritoni,

I'm not sure what you mean by "the most popular diving spot in Montevideo" because the city isn't really a hub for watersports (except for maybe some sailing) because it faces on to a river, not an ocean. Maybe you assumed the neighbourhood called "Buceo" was a diving spot, but I don't think this is the case.

There are a lot of watersports available a bit further up the coast at this time of the year (December - February is high summer season). Punta del Este is a hub of activity and I'm sure there you'll find scuba diving, surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing, body boarding and more.

I found this contact info for some diving instructors in Punta del Este, I'm sure if you contact them you can get some more detailed information. Hope this helps, have fun!
