Dress code for Restaurants

Thank author of this post/commentDo the nicer restaurant have a dress code for men or women? I want to have some idea of the type of clothes that I need to pack.

Thank author of this post/commentA nice pair slacks and a polo shirt for guys should be fine for anywhere. Women can pretty much wear anything that's casual.

Thank author of this post/commentI was wondering the same thing. I am glad someone asked this. It is good to know that it isn't too restrictive.

Thank author of this post/commentI like to dress in a more casual style. I like to wear athletic shoes but I guess I better bring my dress shoes. I like to be comfortable when I'm vacationing but I don't mind dressing formal, sometimes.

Thank author of this post/commentI'm with you. I'd rather have way too many things with me than not enough. Some people would say to pack light and buy what you need at your destination if you end up short. Well I love to shop, but if I pack light and buy, where will I pack it all to go home?

The question is what kind of restaurant will you be going to. I suggest you check out or "investigate" the venue where you will be going or attending. Try asking the establishment if they implement a special dress code to avoid the hassle. Usually when attending into parties you usually dress to impress and you will not achieve that by over dressing nor coming short in appearance. Try consulting a friend on what looks good on you, sometimes other people knows better than you do.

I believe that some high class restaurants has specific rules to follow some might include dressing formally or prohibiting to bring animals. But generally, if you'll just be hitting common bars or restaurants then casual clothing fits perfectly. Like Nenita suggested before me, investigate or observe the venue first before you barge in and shame yourself, or worst get humiliated with a partner. You wouldn't want that to happen to you, right?
