How many countries do you know of that every child in school has their own laptop with wireless internet connection, usb ports, integrated webcam, shock proof casing and more?!

I'm sure these resources are going to go a LONG way toward improving the level of education in more rural areas of Uruguay and hopefully will provide these kids with the education they need to help their country prosper.

It is also great that they are using Linux... when these kids grow up and become consumers they will hopefully seek out open source solutions and let Microsoft lose its market share.

There is also a project to enable the kids to use these laptops to make blog posts on some of the common blogging platforms... blogger, wordpress and others. They should be able to prepare posts off line and upload them they connect.
