| While I don't yet live in Uruguay, it seems plausible that since people keep their cars longer in Uruguay than in most other countries, car repair may be a good idea. Establishing a reputation for reliable service at a fair price may take some time, so make sure you have enough money to last you through the long process of building up this reputation. You will probably also need to research the auto parts distribution network and get yourself connected before you do your investing. |

Hi Hakan, What part of Istanbul are you from? I love that city, it is incredible! Why do you want to move to Uruguay? Setting up a business here is quite difficult, there is a lot of paperwork and processes and bureaucracy involved. It is definitely possible, but you have to have a lot of patience! Do you speak fluent Spanish? because that will be very important too, especially if you are starting a business that will deal mostly with Uruguayans on a daily basis. |

For purely selfish reasons I'd really like to see an Indian restaurant in Uruguay as I sorely miss Indian cuisine. I'm sure that ex-pats and more especially the Indian people who run the Tata software biz and the various Indian fabrics stores would beat a path to your door.On the other hand, Uruguayans are extremely conservative in their eating habits and Montevideo has very few restaurants serving non-Uruguayan cuisine so it probably would not be an easy business to run. |

Patrick has a resounding "Ditto" on this one!! I'd love it if someone would open an Indian Restaurant here. I can smell it already!These days, I think it would have a great chance of success. Especially if you included a small section for retail sales of packaged or bulk Indian spices and other hard to get items. Could be a real winner. Do the Yoga also as a side line. There are already quite a few Yoga centers and instructors. They would likely be a good part of your new customer base. Follow your heart. It can be a bureaucratic ballet to start a business here, but that could be said of many places. Go for it, if your passionate about it. ~P |
