| Long term rental I am looking for a long term rental in Atlantida for my early retirement. What is a ball park cost of rent and expenses? |

Hello Bruce, Hello everybody in the forum. Maybe I can help you! By the way, by coincidence I used to live in lees summit! Anyway, how big do you need? I am currently developing a beautiful piece of land in atlantida and I am planning to build a few guest houses on it. Of course, I am very interested in long term renters. So we could actually build a house to your specifications to some degree. So please let me know what you need. Alex |
| "Rental Inquiry"
Hello Alexander. My daughter and I are looking for one year rental, preferably with garden space for growing vegetables. Our plans are not set but I am anticipating sometime in October of this year. We have one dog. A big disadvantage is that we need a furnished dwelling. Don't know if you can help but thought I'd ask. If indeed you can help, can you tell me what you need for references from the US? Thanks |

Hello Patsy, Generally thinking I would of course like to have all my guest houses equipped with furniture. How big do you need the house to be? Also, about the dog and the garden, that should be no problem. The whole land is about 20 acres in size, so there is enough land to cover for you and the dog and your daughter :-) Alex |

Thank you, Alex. We would need 2 bedrooms or one large bedroom with room for 2 single beds. 20 acres is huge, I assume the rental isn't for 20 acres? Where is this property located? Unfortunately, we can only come down with suitcases at this time, hence the request for furnished home. We eventually want to purchase land but before we do, we want to do more exploring than we did last November. Thank you. |

Hello Patsy, the house I am building right now is suitable, about 1000sq.foot, and would suit your needs. You can pick as much garden as you can handle. I am planning to build a few small houses on my property, and rent them out long term, so it might turn into a small expat community :-)! So basically, if the house is done by the time you plan to come, you could live in there for as long as it takes to build up another house suiting your needs. |

Oh, the rental is about 1.8 Miles north from the beach in the middle of Atlantida. So I strongly suggest having something to move around with, like a scooter or a horse. |
| "Playa Brava"
Patsy, my husband and I are renting a small, one-bedroom "casita, " about three blocks from playa brava in Atlantida. It's about a 10 to 20 minute walk from groceries and supermarkets, but a five-minute walk from the feria market, which happens every Thursday. We are in a new development, paying $437 for a one-bedroom, with a small garden space in the back. There are still units available, but they are unfurnished. The same inmobliaria rents very similar one and two bedroom units, right around the corner. Of course, you pay more for furnished and two bedroom, but it saves you some hassle. I might have some photos of the other unit, because I mistook it for my own. They do allow pets, because we have an ongoing saga of trying to get our pets overseas. Let me know if I can help. |
| "Long Term Rental"
Thank you Alexander and Lisa. This gives me great hope. Like your idea of investment property, and I am interested in both of your properties. Lisa, any way I can inquire about the furnished units around the corner? I know unfurnished means no refrigerator or stove nor washing machine for clothes, etc. I looked in Montevideo at appliances and they are expensive, obviously. If I have to, maybe buy used appliances. I am sure they are sold. Alexander have you given thought to the monthly rental on your 20 acres? I don't require a lavish accommodation, just a nice home ...... will probably buy a used truck. Let me know some of your terms for renting. Thank you both. |
| "Ciudad Jardin"
Ciudad Jardin is the name of the inmobliari. They are in downtown Atlantida. I don't have link-posting privileges yet, or I would post the link. |
| "Cuidad Jardin"
Fantastic! I googled and found their email address. I sent them an inquiry. Thank you, Lisa! |
| "My pleasure!"
Maybe we will be neighbors! |
