| Awsome art and culture"The sun hits Montevideo before it shines on Argentina", as Jorge Luis Borges commented, underlines that Uruguayan are independent and free from foreign influence reminding us that Uruguay has always had to struggle against the Argentinian tendency to overlap into Uruguay and be dominant there.Many Uruguayan are artists and that is a distinctive element in Uruguayan culture. Personally, I would like to have more infomation on Uruguyan artists, especially painters and sculptors. Which are the main ones? Especially the younger generation. I have not been there but plan to go soon. I have heard of Angel Tejera and Alfredo de la Marķa. Are there many more? Thanks and cheers! |
